The Night Life in Yellowstone

The first night we spent in Yellowstone there was a hale storm so we all shoved our way in to the motor home for dinner and dessert. The kids watched a movie while we ate this lemon cake thing that was to die for. Chloe liked it as well.

Yellowstone Day 1

Beautiful Lower Falls
Papa showing P.J. the waterfall.
Apparently it stinks.
The whole crew minus my Dad who is taking the picture and Pete who could not come with us. :(

San Francisco Zoo

My favorite part of the Zoo was watching the grizzly bears, they had a really cool habitat and they were being very active.
It was fun to see the foot prints in the sand at the bottom of their pond.
This one was doing a little dance, it was great.
My little Spiders.

Which one is the real gorilla?

At the end of the day P.J. just wanted to fly away.

Fishermans Wharf

The boys and I were able to take a trip up to San Francisco to see fisherman's wharf. P.J. had a fun time looking at these world war 2 ships and submarines. He also liked imitating what he thought the guns sounded like, Henry then proceeded to imitate P.J.'s imitation.
I love how P.J. was wearing his glasses.
The Sea Lions were not out in full force that day, as you can see. P.J. and Henry could see the "brown lumps" out there though.

Hangin' with Dad

I was so tempted to title this "Hangin' with Mr. Cooper". I knew most of you would make fun of me but then I thought some of you would appreciate this blast from the past. Anyway, as most of you know all the Olympic trials are on and there is no way Pete would miss the swimming. Apparently Henry couldn't miss it either, or he just really likes his Dad.

In California life really is a beach!

We are only about 15 minutes away from a beach called "Half Moon Bay". It is a really nice beach with camping spots and everything. P.J. was so excited to get in the water, and as you can see the waves are pretty big. They would go down really close and then run away so they wouldn't get soaked, a couple of times it didn't really work, Pete got water all the way up his back so you can only imagine how P.J. looked. One particular time when the water was going back down it swept P.J. off his feet and to his face he went. Oh my gosh, (or for you young hipsters out there, OMG), I thought I was going to pee my pants laughing. So he stands up and starts spitting all the sand out of his mouth, laughs and turns around to go back for more. Next it was my turn to go out with him and of course we weren't paying attention to the incoming water and it took him down again, the second time wasn't so good, he didn't dare get too close after that but he still had a lot of fun.

Henry had fun too, on the towel far enough away from the water that it didn't get him.
This is just about the cutest thing I have ever seen. As most of you know P.J. is always soooo slow and Henry is 2, so when we turned around to tell them to hurry up this is what we saw. Cute brothers, they love each other so much, most of the time.

4th of July @ Roaring Camp Railroad

We decided to go into the "mountains", whatever kind of mountains they have here, and take a ride on the train. Roaring Camp Railroad has two different trains, one takes you up to the top of Bear Mountain which is what we did, and the other takes you out to the Boardwalk in Santa Cruz. We left it as a surprise to the boys and they were so excited when they found out what we were doing.
Here is the train letting off a little steam.
Cowboy Sheriff P.J.
While we were standing by this train the horn blew and the boys were off. P.J. was just a little startled but Henry ran as fast as he could in the other direction screaming his little girl high pitch scream. Sad but so funny.
We put Henry in jail.

Us on the train.
Some giant redwoods.

Baseball Game

We were able to go with Pete's firm to a Giants game, and what fun it was. As you can see we did a lot of eating and it was a bit chili.
The boys were pooped by the time we got home and boy did they sleep good.
